Pentel's Ain lead is Pentel's highest-grade mechanical pencil lead. If you have been using classic mechanical pencil lead your whole life, expect an upgrade. Designed in 2023, Pentel's Ain lead is both smooth and less susceptible to breakage than traditional mechanical pencil lead thanks to its porous ceramic cell structure. In addition, it is specially formulated to reduce lead smear after being highlighted. This is all the more important for 0.3mm lead as it is quite thin. Trading away a classic tube-and-cap design, the Pentel Ain slides to open, allowing it to be opened with one hand and eliminating the risk of losing the cap. 25 lead pieces per refill container.
